these are future projects. Some I have just thought of and some I am actually planning to do at some point. over time, reassesing them I can see some are unlikely to happen, either due to not interested anymore, or other tools have made them redundant.

A holiday photo aggregator.
Scene: You are on holiday (or any other event e.g wedding) with a group of people and everyone have taken different photos. And you want to share these amongst yourselves afterwards.
Problem 1: Different people use their prefered online photo sharing sites; e.g: Picasa web albums, flickr, coppermine, photobucket, Snapfish, etc. This resolves to many different, confusing, and often lost or ignored ways to share photos.
Problem 2: Some people don't use online photo sharing.
Possible solution: To stop forcing people to change their provider, I want to create a sort of aggregator site for photo albums. On an event group page, people can add links to their 3rd party photo album. This way people can easily and quickly find each album.

  • Tools to create and distribute login details to 3rd party

A transaction middleman. Something similar to what they call escrow in the US.
  • Keep it simple.

    • requirement for fullfilment
    • actions if dispute
    • 3rd party details
    • details of stages, if payment is staggered
    • details of when deposit is to be made
  • Both receiver and sender / purchaser & seller is set to "yellow" state.
  • Sender encounters a problem / delay in delivering / shipping etc
    • his state is set to amber
    • receiver is notified by email
  • sender sends products
    • sender state is set to green
    • receiver state is set to orange, as he awaits delivery
    • receiver is notified by email
  • receiver receives products
    • the products are not what ordered or damaged
      • receiver state is set to red
      • sender is notified by email
      • sender's state is set to amber
    • the products are as espected
      • receiver state is set to green
      • 3rd party middleman is notified to transfer money
  • Problems:
    • legality may need to be financial institution
    • US' facination with lawsuits.
